The Origin result is drawn from comparisons of internal features, physical and chemical data with specimens from known localities, continuous to-date scientific research and reference information. Individual gemstone from several localities may share similar characteristics.
c) The determination of Geographic Origin and certain treatments may require analysis by LA-ICP-MS and LIBS techniques. This instrument vaporizes a small area, less than 100 micrometer of the gemstone’s surface through the use of laser beam. More than one area may need to be tested on the girdle or facet per gemstone. The marks caused, which are not easily seen by the naked eye, may be removed by repolishing.
In authorizing the above analysis, that may result in damage to the loose gemstone and the risk of LA-ICP-MS and LIBS tests, the client acknowledges and agrees that GAAJ-ZENHOKYO assumes no responsibility for any damage of gemstones left for examination while in the possession of GAAJ-ZENHOKYO. Employees of GAAJ-ZENHOKYO shall never bear any responsibility, shall never be the subject of a claim, and shall never be liable for compensation due to the Gem Identification Report.
d) Certain Padparadscha sapphire may fade its colour during the time, and fading test may require test by a low temperature warming technique. This technique warms the gemstone under a lamp with around 100º Celsius in a short period. In authorizing the test that may result in fade or damage to the gemstone, the client acknowledges and agrees that GAAJ-ZENHOKYO assumes no responsibility for any damage of gemstones left for examination while in the possession of GAAJ-ZENHOKYO.
