SHIPPING INFORMATION

1. Clients are responsible for arranging the shipment of their packages to the GAAJ-ZENHOKYO laboratory, and once their orders are complete and packages prepared will need to contact a secured shipping company. Clients may send the items using whatever shipping company suites them and GAAJ-ZENHOKYO will return the package using the same company, unless requested to do otherwise.
 

2. Please pay attention to the following:

a. Bonded Warehouse
GAAJ-ZENHOKYO operates a Bonded Warehouse that is approved by Japan's Customs Authority. This enables bond inspection services for stones coming from overseas without the requirement to pay taxes. The inspection of gemstones is carried out in the bonded warehouse.
This service is only available if a package is using the Malca-Amit (link: http://www.malca-amit.com/) or Brinks (link: http://www.brinksglobal.com/) shipping companies. This service is recommended, as customers will not have to pay customs duty and other associated charges.

Clients taking advantage of the service are requested to advise the above shipping companies that the stones are for inspection through the Bonded Warehouse.

b. Inspection not through Bonded Warehouse
Customers using a shipping company or courier service not through the bonded warehouse should take the following issues into account:

• CUSTOMS DUTY
Customs duty will be charged only for jewellery (not loose stones) worth more than JPY 10,000. This expense will be charged to the customer's final invoice.
The tariff rate may vary depending on country of origin or nature of the item.

We strongly recommend that the customer contact GAAJ-ZENHOKYO Lab to receive advice regarding choice of shipping company and related charges.

Jewellery or loose stones with a value below JPY 10,000 are exempt from tax.
 

• CONSUMPTION TAX
Consumption tax (5%) will be charged for items with a value of over 10, 000 yen (US$ 100). However, this expense will be borne by the GAAJ-ZENHOKYO Laboratory and customers will not be charged.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY
1. GAAJ-ZENHOKYO recommends that clients insure the item(s) sent for inspection covering the period from its dispatch to GAAJ-ZENHOKYO laboratory until its return.

2. GAAJ-ZENHOKYO will not be liable for any damage occurring to the items sent to the laboratory.
